Role of SPA berthing office

The role of the SPA berthing office is to coordinate the arrival, work, and departure of ships docking at the Port of Charleston facilities. The berthing office works with agents to establish arrival times for vessels, to determine when and where vessels will dock, and schedule sailing times. The steamship line agent is generally the party in charge of coordinating these activities with the berthing office.
